Ren + Jessica

He loved her for everything she was and would be…

The day had finally arrived, the girl that God intended for him was sharing giggles and remembering cute memories with her bridesmaids in the other room. They had prepared for this day that would forever start a new journey of many new things for them. Ren & Jessica would share vows and commit to a lifetime of serving one another in love, hope, adventure, struggles and laughter.

And it rained and poured all day. What should have been an outside wedding was now an inside wedding and although it was not what was planned, they made the best of it and focused on what had brought this day together from the beginning. One another.

Their love story started off with the best of the best of intentions..friendship. They were the best of friends and that friendship sparked many new feelings that led to a hot air balloon ride, a hike around a valley with a huge desert below and Ren asking Jessica to be his forever bride.

Most memorable moment?
Jessica: Getting to talk just the two of us during our first dance.

Any advice for future bride & grooms?
No matter how much planning, the day is going to feel a little like a roller coaster. Let go of the small things and enjoy the bigger picture.

A funny?
Jessica: When we began our unity ceremony of pouring paints to blend on a canvas the officiant gave a beautiful introduction. Then on the count of three we started to pour the paints. After a few seconds of squeezing bottles and no paint, we quickly realized no one had cut the tops off the bottles. Small details are easy to miss in the chaos of planning!

Justo + Synthia {Maternity}

I met Synthia when I started on what seems like a forever journey of getting my Masters degree, she is a sweet sole and a constant reminder of genuine kindness. Baby Justo is loved by so many and his parents and family can not wait for his arrival come early April.

Blake & Lauren

I went up to Colorado with the intent to carry out some homework given to me by a mentor. It was simply to get beautiful people in front of my camera, practice and learn. I remembered Lauren from a while back, I remember her eyes, plus to be that kind of beautiful, it’s hard to forget a face like hers. At the time I can remember wanting to ask if she would ever want to model for a fun shoot, but I was too scared to ask. So maybe a year if not more, it happened. Not only her, but her more than willing husband joined!

Married couples are my favorite, especially parents. I get to whisk them away from life that can at times seem so busy, always on the go and very little to no time to really have that time with the one that you embarked on such a beautiful journey with. It allows me to capture their cute flirtatious interactions, their sweet embraces and that sweet love that brings out the soft spoken whispers amongst one another. It is during those moments that I wish to capture and hold it in time just so that they can see what I see. It is here that I know and have witnessed all forms of love that makes people and their relationships unique unlike any other relationship and it is there that not one way to love is better than another, but just magically beautiful. This is my favorite. Blake and Lauren, your love for one another is inspiring. Your story is beautiful.

                  Those eyes..wowzers!

Rodriguez Family {Maternity}

I was sitting in class waiting for the professor to get there. It had been a crazy week and I really just wanted to go home. So I get this text from Shammah and it reads “I have to tell you something, but you can’t tell anyone!” My heart is racing, I’m freaking out a little–note to people. That’s probably not the best way to start a conversation, especially with a mom. It is a given that the worst comes to mind first. Just saying. Anywhoo. She goes on to say that “SHE IS PREGNANT” yup, I ugly cried in class & I didn’t care. You see the story behind this news is that they had been trying for sometime & while everyone and their mom was getting preganant around them, it just wasn’t happening. I learned my first lesson out of many from them. They kept faith, they kept God the center and continued to be humble in all circumstances. What a testimony it was to Clinton and I.

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalms 37:4

God always has perfect timing, his plan far exceeds any plan we may have.

So with permission, I couldn’t help, but tell Clinton. We then planned a baby announcement session and bada boom bada bang..it was revealed.

Fast forward a few weeks, & lets just say selfish Marissa was upset. My dear friends were moving and it wasn’t next door to us. Jose had taken a job in Colorado, yup out of Texas to be exact 17 hours 5 mins & boom in a blink of an eye they were gone. Okay not really, but really. So I got over myself and Clinton and I planned our vacation to Colorado instead of Michigan during spring break. It was such an amazing reunion 3 months is just way too long. I had the privilege once again to capture their love for one another, their love for their beautiful daughter and their growing baby girl in the womb. It was amazing.

& I will just say..Shammah may or may not have been creeped out because I couldn’t help, but continuously tell her how gorgeous she was. She is stunning and that glow, just saying I didn’t have that glow with my own. Made me want to be pregnant, just like a half of a half a second. There is such a thing. I’m sure of it.

Ro + Amanda {Maternity}

There is much delight in knowing that God brought two people who love each other out of this world style and created the gift of life. That in itself is such a beautiful miracle.. and Oh do I do happy dances capturing all of the beautiful moments. Baby girl has two older brothers who love her and I know that they will be shining knights in protecting her and loving her. Ro & Amanda are seriously amazing parents and I am so excited to see the new journey that their family has welcoming Baby Garza!

Bill + Droxine {Engaged}

So imagine shooting a wedding and in the process of getting shots of the people who attended, you come across this couple. They stand out and you can’t stop starring.. So then because you are awesomely awkward you ask them, “by any chance would y’all be interested in getting in front of my camera, just because?” So the night continues, this couple—> Bill & Droxine, tear up the dance floor then after, get your information and say they will be contacting you to shoot their wedding in the summer. SCORE!

Bill & Droxine, made it so easy. Their love radiates and the way Bill held Droxine, kissed her sweetly and you just know this man would follow her to the end of the Earth. Ahhh, to witness that kind of love…makes my job..magic!

Javi + Yvonne {Married}

When I first took the leap to set out on this journey of capturing beauty, light and love, I was quite unaware of all the beautiful moments I truly would get to share in. Yvonne was sent to me by a beautiful friend and by far one of the sweetest gems I had ever met. On the day of her wedding, she was calm and collected. Her mom was super cute in making sure everyone was taken care of and her dad was all to sweet to make sure that I had everything I needed. Let me just say, when your brides family and friends welcome you as their own and when your bride trust you to know what you are doing to capture her day…holy nelly, it makes a world of awesomeness!!
